PIERRE FLYNN

It was in 1972, at the age of eighteen, that Pierre Flynn started with the group Octobre. Six records and ten years during which Flynn polishes a demanding and lucid writing, with his comrades. Along with other groups such as Offenbach, Beau Dommage and Harmonium, Octobre made a major contribution to the reinvention of Quebec rock and pop music.

After Octobre, Pierre Flynn devoted himself to his solo career. Over the years, the artist released four albums and won several ADISQ awards, including the Félix for best rock album in 1987 and the Félix for songwriter in 2001.

Pierre Flynn made a remarkable comeback in 2015 with the album Sur la terre, a pivotal album with poetry that is both lucid and filled with wonder, and a youthfulness, a topicality, a renewed freedom.  Critically acclaimed, the artist was nominated at the ADISQ Gala in the categories Album of the Year - Adult Contemporary and Songwriter of the Year in 2015, and Song of the Year and Show of the Year (singer-songwriter) in 2016.

The tour of the album was spread over three years, touring Quebec, New Brunswick and Switzerland for a total of over a hundred concerts.

Pierre Flynn's career has also included other collaborations such as the opera Nelligan, the musical drama Dracula, the beautiful flight of the 12 rapaillés men, the tribute show to Jacques Brel, Ne me quitte pas, the show Vive la môme pour les 100 de Piaf, and the show "Sur la Lune souvenirs à Claude Léveillée" superbly directed by Catherine Major.

In 2023, Pierre Flynn is back with the concert "Sur la route", a unique opportunity to meet Pierre Flynn, alone on stage, face to face and heart to heart, as we mark more than 50 years of artistic life.
From October to the present day, the singer-songwriter takes us on a free journey along the sometimes familiar, sometimes more secret paths of his career. Along the way, he shares confidences, thoughts and memories that may have inspired his songs, and above all that voice, that poetry and that breath that have weathered fashions and seasons.
