FUNK LION

Funk Lion is the alter ego of Haitian-born Quebecer Francis Brisebois. Author, composer and producer, he forges his afro-futuristic rock from which he extracts fossil energy in Montreal. The sound is a reflection of his islands of métissage, unceded and full of psychedelics. On his new album, Enfants fauves, he takes us to a feline planet, where the rock is hairy and the soundtrack invites close encounters with wildlife. Enfants fauves translates as “the return of the little wild beasts to nature”: he's talking, of course, about his songs, whose ardour he can no longer hold back after a long gestation period. Every concert is their ceremony of return to wildlife, and every time it's a party in the village of Wokistan. Psychedelics included.
