VOX SAMBOU
Vox writes and performs in Creole, French, English, Spanish and Portugues. He is a founding member of Montreal-based hip-hop collective, Nomadic Massive, and started his solo act in 2008. Since then, he performed all across the world. His music focuses on the traditional rhythms of Haiti mixed with elements of afrobeat, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop, always committed to denounce injustices and social imbalances. Vox has three solo albums, and his most recent EP, Eritaj, was released in October 2018.
“Vox Sambou is both the neighbourhood rap and song of Haitian ancestors, the sound of Africa’s roots in the diaspora and this Montreal presence open to the realities of the planet.”
